Between Places
Taking our time to find our place

Our story

Since then, the trips have got longer and the routes more ambitious. We've both moved into the world of bike guiding and built lives that are harder to explain at dinner parties but much more interesting to live.
Between Places is where we share all of it — the routes, yes, but also the stories behind the GPS track. The people we've met, the things we've seen, the questions we're still figuring out. We called it Between Places because that's where we tend to find ourselves: somewhere between where we've been and where we're going, not quite sure yet what home looks like.
We think that's a fine place to be.
What you'll find here
Route guides and practical resources for cyclists who want to go further.
And personal essays about travel, people, and the world as we've found it, including the places between the places.
— Carolina & Ine

Three years ago, we met at a running club in Barcelona. Carolina had finished a Master's in Global Health and was starting her first 'big-girl' job, figuring out what came next. Ine arrived after having left a professional career in football in Norway, travelled South America for nine months, and landed in Barcelona to complete her degree in Economics. Neither of us was exactly where we expected to be.
That's probably why we got along so well.
We started small, making the most of our beautiful city. Sunrise swims, mountain runs, beach volleyball. Then we were introduced to the idea of exploring by bike. So we bought our second-hand Decathlon bikes, strapped our little dry-bags with some spare clothes and set off to explore our surroundings. It's easy to fall in love with cycling when the Costa Brava and the Pyrenees are your playground.
We loved it. Not just the cycling, but the travelling — going through places you wouldn't otherwise see. Figuring it out: where to go, where to stay, and all the unexpected moments in between.
